EDUCATION & LICENSING

  • I completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas.
     

  • I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (#91971) through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors and  a National Certified Counselor (#1726496).

WORK

  • 2023-present Angie Bare Counseling and Psychotherapy (private practice) / Provide individual psychotherapy for survivors of complex trauma and/or those in the LGBTQ community.  
     

  • 2023-2024 Trauma Recovery Institute / Provided individual, family and group-based psychotherapy for survivors, specializing in complex trauma and dissociative disorders (until the company closed in Aug 2024).
     

  • 2022-2023 Capital Area Counseling / Provided low-cost, accessible psychotherapy to individuals with anxiety, depression, and complex trauma.

VOLUNTEER WORK

  • QCF - PARENT SUMMIT / 2019 - 2020
    Worked with Rev. Danny Cortez and a small team to plan the 2020 Q Christian Fellowship Parent Summit in Austin, Texas. The Parent Summit seeks to encourage, equip, and connect parents of LGBTQ children. Secured the venue, planned programming, and recruited volunteers. Due to covid-19, it shifted to a virtual event. 
     

  • FREEDHEARTS - INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT NETWORK / 2018 to present
    Work closely with founder, Susan Cottrell, walking alongside parents whose LGBT children have come out. Provide a fully affirming and inclusive space for people to learn, reconcile, and find community. Facilitate the Freedhearts Texas Facebook group and plan activities and events for local parents.

TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS

  • TRAUMA MODEL THERAPY CERTIFICATION / 2024
    Trained through the Colin A. Ross Institute for Psychological Trauma in the principles of Dr. Ross' Trauma Model and the relationships between trauma, dissociation and comorbidity within the model. The Trauma Model is a detailed, scientifically testable theory about the relationships between trauma and a wide range of mental disorders and addictions. 
     

  • ​AN INFINITE MIND - EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CONNECTION FOCUSED ON DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER / 2023 and 2024
    Attended an annual conference created for those living with DID, their loved ones, and mental health professionals. This psychoeducational weekend-long conference provided opportunities to learn from other professionals as well as those with DID on how to best learn from and serve this population

     

  • NARRATIVE FOCUSED TRAUMA CARE - LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATE / 2019
    Trauma-focused narrative therapy training and group work at The Seattle School for Theology & Psychology's Allender Center.
